Google is renaming Google My Business (GMB) to Google Business Profile. The idea is to bring more of the business profile management out of the Google My Business dashboard and directly into Google Search and Google Maps.
If you’ve been around as long as we have, you’ve seen that GMB started out as Google Local then Google Places then Google+ Local then again Google Places! Not to worry. Despite all this confusion, this is where we come in - As a Google Partner we will still have access to the dashboard, allowing us to continue to better manage your listing. We can help you stay current and continue to get the best of out Google’s new features and Google Business Profile.
With this recent announcement, Google hinted at some of the new features rolling out soon:
- Call history is soon to launch in US and Canada
- Messaging can be done directly from Google Search as well as Maps
- Message read receipts can be controlled in Google Search and Maps
New as well is a Performance Planner is being added enabling you to plan your Local campaign budgets, which typically we can do for you. This tool lets you see forecasts for your campaigns, explore outcomes by adjusting campaign settings, understand opportunities in seasonal periods and manage budgets across accounts and campaigns.
