On March 20, Google announced that it was temporarily disabling or limiting a number of features in Google My Business, saying:
“During the unprecedented Virus situation, we are taking steps to protect the health of our team members and reduce the need for people to come into our offices. As a result, there may be some temporary limitations and delays in support as we prioritize critical services.”
- On March 25, a ‘Temporarily Closed’ option was added to Google My Business for businesses that are closed as a result of the virus.
- On March 31, Google Posts, which were temporarily disabled, returned.
- On April 7th, the ability to recieve and reply to reviews was temporarily disabled. This has since returned.
